Sam Howells is a colorist driven by his love of experimentation and knack for drawing inspiration from outside the traditional canon, crafting stunning visuals for commercial campaigns from Volkswagen, Nike, Jordan, Adidas, and Levi’s, and music videos for major artists like Tame Impala, Bon Iver, Travis Scott, Ravyn Lenae, and Shawn Mendes. His work has earned recognition from AICP, the Film Light Color Awards, the Shark Awards, and the Berlin Commercial Awards, and he was recently awarded Best Color Grade for his work on Apple’s ‘Save the Music’ at the 2025 Shark Awards. His feature film credits include the Sundance standout Ghostlight and Waiting for the Light to Change, which earned the Slamdance Grand Jury Prize in 2023.
